At Vimeo, I work on accelerating customer growth, surfacing product features and build tools for creative collaboration, video marketing, and video creation. I helped Vimeo transition the Vimeo Blog from a custom PHP CMS to a WP VIP and GCP powered marketing-hub for Staff Pick Premieres, product news, video school and creator spotlights.
Other recent work:
- This blog is powered by the WP REST API, Gatsby, React and Netlify. You can read more about that here. It’s definitely one of my favorite stacks for publishing.
- Separately, I recently created a headless marketing-focused web app — not too dissimilar from how my blog is setup with static page generation. It is strongly typed and follows the app shell model. The web app was built with Typescript and the WordPress WP REST API. Great for spinning up really fast little static pages of content that need to be revised often and even AB tested.
- I wanted an iOS app for logging movie trivia and filming locations, so I built a little iOS app with React Native, Typescript, Sign-in with Apple, Firebase and TMDB API (not on the app store yet). If you want to see it or would like to be invited to TestFlight, get in touch here.
- I was inspired to make a “city directory app” after reading this by Paul Ford. After experimenting with Firebase as a data-store (which was awesome by the way), I decided to try my hand with Swift and Apple’s new SwiftUI framework, and instead of Firebase, I’d try out CloudKit. I’m still building it (and if I’m being honest it will be available this fall at the earliest), and it should support iOS and the MacOS.
